Sacred gold widescreen patch5/29/2023 Sacred runs at a fixed 1024x768 resolution with no known way of changing it. Play as one of several characters, each with a unique starting location and side quests. Rather sad, because I've found tricks to make a good majority of my older games run at higher resolutions than they were intended for. Sacred is an Action RPG by Ascaron set in the world of Ancaria. Which, again, could simply break the game. Likely, the only hopes Sacred has of ever seeing high resolutions is a source code release (most developers never release their source code, and some that decide to do so wait so long that they discover the source code was lost), a modern remake of the game on a new engine (several older games are starting to be remade/enhanced now for newer technology), or for someone to tediously try to hex edit potentially hundreds of instances of the numbers 1024 and 768 in Sacred.exe until they maybe find the hardcoded resolution. Because the game was designed to run at only a single resolution, there's no guarantee the game would function properly even if someone could tell it to run at a different resolution. The designers unfortunately decided to hardwire the game to run at 1024x768. I am presently unaware of any way to change the resolution Sacred runs at.
